Today is the Arafat day

Today is the Arafat day! arafat is the most important rite of Hajj and muslims who are lucky to participate in Hajj are expected to be present at the plains of Arafat from dawn to sunset.according to the Prophet(SAW) 'Hajj is Arafat'. any pilgrim who loses this important rite has automatically loses his Hajj.pilgrims are expected to spend the day praying, reading the Qur'an,remembering the name of Allah and atoning for all sins.Muslims who have not participated in Hajj are strongly recommended to fast the day as it 'expiate for the sins of a whole year'!
Standing at Arafat symbolises what the Prophet (SAW) performed 1426 years ago where he performed the farewell pilgrimage.it was there he delivered the most historic sermon ever where he said that 'all nations are one, there is no distinction between an Arab and a non-Arab, white or black and the most honourable in the sight of Allah is the most pious, women are the companions of men and should be treated kindly,it is forbidden for a muslim to shed the blood of another and people must keep away from injuring the reputation, property and integrity of others'.among other memorable exhortations.
The Arafat also symbolise another important lesson that people af all ages and races will stand before Allah on the day of reckoning and account for all their worldly deeds hence everyone should try to do worthy deeds he could satisfactorily defend in the Hereafter.
